We built TradeLink, a TradeFi platform that helps manufacturers access working capital faster by connecting their unpaid invoices with institutional financiers. The platform was designed for cross-border trade, where manufacturers may have to wait up to 90 days to receive payment from large buyers after delivering goods.
The goal was to make invoice financing faster, more transparent, and easier to manage. Instead of relying on paperwork, manual verification, and traditional international transfers, TradeLink uses blockchain technology to tokenize verified invoices, connect them with financiers, and manage funding and repayment through smart contracts.
For many manufacturers, the gap between shipping goods and getting paid can put immense pressure on cash flow. Invoice factoring solves this problem by allowing manufacturers to receive money upfront from a financier, rather than waiting for the buyer’s payment.
The challenge is that traditional factoring can involve a lot of paperwork and manual checks. There is also a risk of the same invoice being financed more than once, while international payments can take time to settle.
TradeLink was created to simplify this entire process. Once a shipment or goods receipt is verified, the corresponding invoice can be tokenized on-chain. Eligible financiers can then fund the invoice using USDC, while the platform keeps track of its funding and repayment status throughout the lifecycle.
