Top 10 Oil and Gas Tokenization Platform Development Companies in USA

A shortlist of US oil and gas tokenization partners, from custom developers that build mineral rights, royalty and working interest platforms to order, to the regulated tokenization infrastructure and energy issuers already putting US barrels and wells on-chain, plus the latest 2026 tokenization statistics.

Oil and gas has always been one of the most capital-hungry and least liquid asset classes. Mineral rights, royalty interests and working interests change hands through brokers, auctions and private placements, minimum tickets often run into six figures, and investors can wait years to exit. Tokenization changes that by placing the asset in an SPV and issuing permissioned digital tokens that represent a share of its revenue or ownership. Royalty payments can then be calculated from production data and paid out automatically in dollars or stablecoins, and eligible investors can hold and transfer their stake from a wallet. Grand View Research values the broad asset tokenization market at $1.76 trillion in 2025, growing at 42.1% a year to $24.5 trillion by 2033.

The US is where this market is taking shape. American crude output is on track for a record 13.8 million barrels per day in 2026, RBN Energy puts the value of US mineral and royalty interests at roughly $700 billion, and tokenized oil and gas products are now live: Mineral Vault covers royalties from more than 2,500 producing US wells, Elmnts tokenizes mineral rights funds on Solana, and AetherStrike issued barrel-backed reserve tokens from a Utah oil sands deposit in June 2026. Building one of these platforms is very different from building a generic token app. It has to tie every token to a real legal interest, enforce securities rules such as Regulation D in the contract itself, ingest production and price data, run a royalty and expense waterfall, and reconcile every payout with operator statements. We reviewed US-based development companies, tokenization infrastructure providers and oil and gas issuers on their tokenization experience, compliance depth, energy data integration, transparency, team scale and post-launch support. Below are the 10 that stood out, whether you want a platform built around your own assets or proven rails to issue on.

Market Statistics

Oil and gas tokenization statistics for 2026

These are the latest figures from on-chain trackers, US energy agencies, industry analysts and regulators. They show how fast tokenized real-world assets are growing, how large the underlying US oil and gas base is and why the legal structure shapes every platform build.

Tokenization market-size estimates vary widely because some count only freely transferable on-chain tokens while others include assets that merely use a blockchain for record keeping, so treat forecasts as a direction of travel rather than a precise oil and gas figure.

Tokenized real-world assets are still small next to the energy assets that could move on-chain. The distributed RWA market has grown from about $5.4 billion at the start of 2025 to more than $38 billion in October 2026, led by Treasuries, private credit and commodities. Energy issuers are starting to follow. Mineral Vault targets a 10.12% annual IRR with monthly stablecoin distributions tied to production, Elmnts offers accredited investors funds of mineral rights with automated monthly royalty payouts, and AetherStrike priced its first Utah bitumen reserve tokens at a deep discount to their stated net asset value, although secondary trading has so far been thin.

The rules are also clearer than a year ago. The SEC published a taxonomy of tokenized securities in January 2026 and an interpretive release in March that confirmed tokenized securities remain securities. Its Innovation Exemption, issued on September 17, 2026, focuses on trading tokenized listed stocks, so private oil and gas offerings still run on Regulation D, Regulation S or Regulation A+, with transfer agent and state securities rules on top. Any build plan should start with the asset structure and the offering exemption, then the code.

Methodology

How did we compile the list of top oil and gas tokenization developers?

We started with US-headquartered and US-based firms in Clutch and GoodFirms blockchain and tokenization categories, RWA.xyz and DefiLlama asset listings, and recent energy tokenization news from trade and crypto press. We then checked each firm's website, review profile, press releases and, for listed companies, results coverage in October 2026. Every firm was compared on the same six factors. Where a figure or an oil and gas reference is not public we say so rather than guess, and we left out tokenization firms with no US presence.

The 2026 List

Top oil and gas tokenization platform development companies in the USA

The companies on this list fall into three groups, and the difference matters because the right choice depends on whether you want to own a platform, issue on someone else's rails or learn from live offerings.

Custom tokenization developers

They build a platform around your assets, legal structure, chain and investor base. Idea Usher, SoluLab, LeewayHertz and Suffescom fit here. Choose this route if you want to own the code, the investor experience and the roadmap.

Tokenization infrastructure

Securitize, tZERO, Vertalo and Plume provide regulated issuance, transfer agent, trading or blockchain rails. Many custom platforms plug into them rather than replace them.

Oil and gas token issuers

Elmnts and AetherStrike run their own tokenized mineral rights and reserve offerings. They are not agencies, but they show how US energy tokens are structured today.

That is why Securitize and Idea Usher can both appear in the same top 10 without offering the same service. The ranking reflects which partner is the strongest fit for each type of buyer, not which company is the largest.

1. Idea Usher

Best for: Custom oil and gas tokenization platforms you own, with the token logic, data feeds and payouts built around your assets
#1 for Custom O&G Tokenization

Why it ranks #1: Idea Usher takes the top spot for operators, mineral funds and fintech founders who want to build and own an oil and gas tokenization platform rather than rent a generic issuance tool. Its team covers the parts that usually need several specialists, including asset and investor-rights mapping, permissioned smart contracts, KYC and accreditation flows, SCADA and price oracles, royalty and expense waterfalls, custody integration, investor and operator portals, security testing and post-launch engineering. Idea Usher also lists blockchain and asset tokenization platform development among its core services.

That makes it particularly relevant for tokenizing mineral rights, royalty and overriding royalty interests, working interests, certified reserves or multi-well portfolios. Its oil and gas work covers ERC-3643 or ERC-1400 security tokens with on-chain Reg D and Reg S transfer rules, production and WTI or Brent price feeds through oracle infrastructure, automated USDC distributions after royalties, severance taxes and lease operating costs, capital-call engines for working interest holders, and operator back offices for division orders, payout batches and K-1 reporting. The platform is designed around the client's legal structure, chain choice and investor base instead of a fixed template, with documented source code and no vendor lock-in.

Why we ranked Idea Usher #1

  • Built for custom projects: Platforms are developed around the buyer's own assets, SPV structure, offering exemption and investor base.
  • Energy finance is part of the build: Realized pricing, royalty deductions, severance taxes, lease operating costs and pro-rata payouts are modeled and tested before launch.
  • Compliance in the contract: Identity registries, accreditation checks, wallet allowlists and transfer restrictions are enforced on-chain, with audit trails for regulators.
  • Field data, not spreadsheets: SCADA, flow meter and production database feeds are validated and reconciled before they trigger any distribution.
  • Established delivery capacity: Clutch lists a 250 to 999 employee team, 11+ years of experience and a 4.9/5 rating from 44 reviews.
Engineering focus: Solidity and OpenZeppelin contracts on Ethereum, Base or Polygon, Chainlink and custom oracles, OPC UA and MQTT field data, Node.js and PostgreSQL backends, Fireblocks or Safe custody controls and React investor portals (company oil and gas tokenization guide).
Company track record: 11+ years in development, 250+ specialists, 1,000+ delivered builds and a 4.9/5 Clutch rating across 44 verified reviews.

5. Securitize

Best for: Institutional issuance, transfer agency and compliant secondary trading

Securitize is the Miami-based tokenization company best known as the platform and transfer agent behind BlackRock's BUIDL fund, and it began trading on the NYSE as SECZ on July 2, 2026 after a SPAC merger that raised about $400 million. In the US it operates an SEC-registered broker-dealer with an alternative trading system, a registered transfer agent and a fund administrator, so it can cover issuance, ownership records and trading in one regulated stack. It manages more than $4 billion in tokenized assets across roughly 650 funds. Securitize is not a custom development agency, but energy issuers can use its rails, or a custom platform can connect to them.

6. tZERO

Best for: Regulated tokenization with an ATS for secondary liquidity

tZERO is a New York-based tokenized securities company that runs issuance, custody through a special purpose broker-dealer and secondary trading through its alternative trading system. It has a direct oil and gas track record: in 2021 it agreed to digitize about $25 million of equity in EnergyFunders' Yield Fund I, a Houston platform that invests in US oil and gas projects, and make it tradable on its platform. In 2026 it began selling its stack as tokenization as a service, added support for several new chains, signed agreements with ICE to support the NYSE's tokenization platform and announced plans to go public.

7. Vertalo

Best for: Transfer agent and cap table layer for Texas and US energy issuers

Vertalo is an Austin, Texas fintech that has been an SEC-registered transfer agent since 2019, which matters because the official record of who owns a tokenized oil and gas interest has to live somewhere regulators recognize. Its platform manages digital cap tables, investor onboarding, corporate actions and settlement for private securities, and its chain-agnostic token layer supports Ethereum, Tezos, Aptos, Solana and Canton. In 2026 it added Aptos to its securities protocol and shipped tools that let AI agents run transfer agency tasks. It is a strong fit as the registry under a custom platform rather than a full front end.

8. Plume Network

Best for: Launching energy tokens on an RWA-focused chain with built-in compliance

Plume Network is a New York-based blockchain built specifically for real-world assets, with compliance features at the protocol level and DeFi tools that let holders use tokenized assets as collateral. It is home to Mineral Vault, created by asset manager Allegiance Oil & Gas, whose MNRL security token holds interests in more than 2,500 producing wells across about 10,000 gross acres in 9 US states for a 15-year term. MNRL targets a 10.12% annual IRR and pays monthly stablecoin distributions tied to production. Plume is infrastructure rather than an agency, so it suits issuers that want an energy-ready chain for a custom-built platform.

9. Elmnts

Best for: Benchmarking a live mineral rights tokenization product

Elmnts is an Illinois-based startup that tokenizes funds holding US oil and gas mineral rights on Solana. Accredited investors can browse funds, invest with a wallet and USDC, and receive royalty distributions automatically each month, while compliance rules such as transfer restrictions are written into the token using Solana's token extensions. Its offerings rely on Regulation D Rule 506(c), and it also buys royalty rights from owners who need quick liquidity. Elmnts raised $2 million in pre-seed funding from investors including Foundation Capital. It is not a build-to-order studio, but its product shows the investor flow US royalty buyers now expect.

10. AetherStrike

Best for: Benchmarking reserve-backed, barrel-per-token offerings

AetherStrike is a Wyoming-based company that tokenizes proven natural resource reserves into security tokens for accredited investors. Its first offering, launched in June 2026 with Utah operator Valkor, tokenizes an independently certified bitumen deposit at Asphalt Bluff South in the Uinta Basin, where each token represents one certified barrel. The tokens follow the ERC-3643 permissioned standard on Ethereum, with identity checks built into the token logic. Valkor holds mineral rights to more than 25,000 acres of oil sands, and both companies keep tokens in the project. AetherStrike plans further offerings across oil, gas, minerals and forestry.

Buyer's Guide

How to choose an oil and gas tokenization platform development company in the USA

An oil and gas token is only as good as the legal interest, data and payout logic behind it. A misread royalty deduction, a broken transfer rule or a production feed that does not match the operator statement can turn into investor disputes and regulatory trouble. Use these seven checks to compare vendors before you sign.

  1. Ask for live tokenization work, not mockups

Request demos, client references or on-chain contract addresses for security tokens the vendor has shipped, ideally for real assets with recurring distributions. Royalty and mineral platforms look simple, but onboarding, transfer restrictions and monthly payouts only prove themselves in production.

  2. Check they understand oil and gas interests

Mineral rights, royalties, overriding royalties and working interests carry very different cash flows and liabilities. Your partner should explain how each maps to token rights, why working interests need capital-call logic and why reserve-backed tokens should rely on independently certified proved reserves.

  3. Insist on compliance inside the token

Most US oil and gas tokens are securities. Look for permissioned standards such as ERC-3643 or ERC-1400, identity registries, accreditation checks and transfer rules for Regulation D, Regulation S or Regulation A+, plus a clear plan for working with your securities counsel and an SEC-registered transfer agent.

  4. Review the data and payout engine

Payouts depend on production volumes, realized prices, royalty burdens, severance taxes and operating costs. Ask how the vendor ingests SCADA or operator data, validates oracle feeds, reconciles against bank and operator statements and handles late or corrected reports before any distribution goes out.

  5. Confirm smart contract security and custody

Ask for an independent audit plan, role-based admin permissions, multisignature or MPC control of minting and treasury keys, emergency pause functions and integration with qualified custodians. Minting and distribution contracts hold real money, so treat security as a line item, not a promise.

  6. Plan for integration and liquidity

A platform often needs to connect to a transfer agent, an ATS for secondary trading, KYC providers, banks or stablecoin rails and accounting tools. Check that the vendor has worked with these systems and can explain what secondary trading is realistically possible for your offering.

  7. Compare pricing models and IP ownership

Fixed-scope, dedicated-team and time-and-material models all work if the estimate is split into phases. Get a line-by-line quote covering discovery, token contracts, investor portal, data integrations, testing and 3 to 6 months of support, keep legal, reserve engineering and audits in a separate budget, and confirm in writing that you own the source code and contracts.

Red flags: no live security token references, generic ERC-20 tokens with no transfer controls, vague answers on securities exemptions or transfer agents, payouts calculated from manual spreadsheets with no reconciliation, a single quoted price with no phase breakdown, and no named people for smart contracts and compliance.

Conclusion

Picking the right partner for your oil and gas tokenization platform

The right partner depends on whether you need to own a platform or issue on existing rails. Securitize, tZERO and Vertalo provide the regulated broker-dealer, ATS and transfer agent layers that tokenized securities need in the US, and Plume offers an RWA-focused chain that already hosts a multi-well oil and gas token. Elmnts and AetherStrike show what live mineral rights and reserve-backed offerings look like today. SoluLab and LeewayHertz are custom tokenization builders worth comparing on energy experience and price, and Suffescom can add engineering capacity if you validate its commodity work. If you want a platform built around your assets, your legal structure and your investors, a custom developer gives you the source code and the freedom to plug into whichever transfer agent, custodian or trading venue fits.

With tokenized real-world assets growing past $38 billion and US crude output at record levels, there is real room for compliant energy tokens, but only if every token is tied to an enforceable interest and every payout reconciles. If you want one team that can design, build and launch an oil and gas tokenization platform from asset mapping to automated royalty distributions, Idea Usher covers permissioned token contracts, KYC and accreditation, production and price oracles, payout waterfalls, custody integration and investor and operator portals end to end. Start with a short paid discovery phase, lock your legal structure before code, and confirm that you own the source code and smart contracts.

Frequently asked questions

An oil and gas tokenization platform development company builds the software that turns mineral rights, royalty interests, working interests, reserves or production revenue into compliant digital tokens. The work covers permissioned token contracts such as ERC-3643, investor onboarding with KYC, AML and accreditation checks, SPV-linked cap tables, production and price data oracles, automated royalty distributions in fiat or stablecoins, investor dashboards, operator back offices and, where allowed, secondary trading. A strong partner also works alongside your securities counsel, reserve engineers and transfer agent so on-chain records match legal ownership.

Our top 10 for 2026 are Idea Usher, SoluLab, LeewayHertz, Suffescom Solutions, Securitize, tZERO, Vertalo, Plume Network, Elmnts and AetherStrike. The first four are custom development partners that build platforms you own. Securitize, tZERO and Vertalo provide regulated issuance, transfer agent and trading infrastructure, and Plume is an RWA blockchain that hosts the Mineral Vault oil and gas token. Elmnts and AetherStrike are oil and gas issuers running their own tokenized mineral rights and reserve offerings.

Idea Usher's oil and gas tokenization guide estimates $50,000 to $80,000 for a single-asset MVP, $90,000 to $200,000 for a commercial multi-asset platform and $200,000 to $500,000+ for an institutional platform. Working interest capital-call engines, live SCADA data feeds and secondary trading each add cost. Legal structuring, reserve engineering reports, smart contract audits, custody and KYC fees are budgeted separately.

Common models are mineral rights, royalty and overriding royalty interests, working interests in producing wells, proved reserves, multi-well portfolios and midstream assets such as pipelines and storage. Royalty and mineral tokens are the simplest because holders receive revenue without paying drilling or operating costs. Working interest tokens are more complex because holders also share capital and operating expenses. Reserve-backed tokens are usually limited to independently certified proved (1P) reserves.

Yes, but in most cases they are securities. The SEC has repeatedly said that tokenized securities are still securities, and US oil and gas token offerings typically rely on Regulation D for accredited investors, Regulation S for non-US buyers or Regulation A+. The SEC's September 2026 Innovation Exemption covers trading of tokenized listed stocks, not private energy offerings. State securities rules, transfer agent duties and tax reporting also apply. Get advice from a securities attorney before you launch. This is general information, not legal advice.

The platform starts with monthly production volumes and a realized price, which is the WTI or Brent benchmark adjusted for crude quality and transport costs. It then deducts landowner and overriding royalties, severance and ad valorem taxes and lease operating expenses, depending on the interest being tokenized. The remaining net revenue is split pro rata across eligible token holders and paid out in fiat or a stablecoin such as USDC, with every step reconciled against operator statements.
