IT Business Development Head-Job Description

 

We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven head of business development to increase company revenue by identifying profitable business opportunities and developing long-term business growth strategies. The responsibilities of the head of business development include recommending ways to improve operations planning, attending meetings with clients and advisors, and notifying partners of key business developments. You should also be able to assess business risks by analyzing financial, statistical, and economic data.
To be successful as a director of business development, you should be persuasive and have strong business acumen. Ultimately, an exceptional head of business development should be adept at negotiating sound business deals as well as demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

 

To be a successful candidate, you will need to have proven experience in project management and the ability to lead project teams of various sizes. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a huge advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Generating business development ideas and distributing roles and responsibilities to the juniors.
  • Speak to customers, either face to face or over the phone
  • Gain an understanding of customers’ diverse and specific business needs and apply product knowledge to meet them
  • Ensure quality of service by developing a thorough and detailed knowledge of technical specifications and other features of employers’ systems and processes, and then documenting them.
  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team.
  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence.
  • Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select the deals in line with strategies, and lead for closure.
  • Gains familiarity with the IT industry, and stays updated on trends and innovative products.
  • Making proposals as per the project requirements and providing the clients with the solutions.
  • Generating revenues from portals like Clutch, Upwork, Elance and Guru Etc.
  • Bidding experience on freelancing portals majorly on Clutch, Upwork, Guru and people per hour experience will be an added experience.
  • Understanding and thorough knowledge of trending and new technologies for web and mobile. Knows ethical way of bidding and proposal making as per requirement understanding.
  • Ability to work independently. Prior experience of handling targets and work as an individual contributor in the team.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field; master’s degree is advantageous.
  • Proven business development, sales, or marketing experience.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Detail-oriented and persuasive.
  • 5+ years Experience required.
