GuraRide

GURARIDE is a bike-sharing application that allows users to book and ride bicycles and e-scooters in cities and campuses throughout Rwanda, Africa. As per our client’s requirements, we offered a user-friendly application that makes renting MMVs easy and affordable. Its unmatched functionality helps users locate a nearby vehicle, scan its QR code, and start and end their ride with a simple click of a button. To sum it up, the GURARIDE application helps its users to rent a bike and offers a safe riding experience!

Idea Origination

Our client realized that traffic congestion and critical air pollution in Rwanda needs to be tackled. More importantly, he wanted to create a positive social impact and make a difference in people’s lives. He came to us with the idea of providing micro-mobility solutions to solve the distance commute challenges via a user-friendly application. He knew that being just another shared mobility model won’t suffice. Therefore, GURARIDE looked forward to out-of-the-box solutions that would set it apart from the rest.

Our Response

Keeping our client’s requirements in mind, we combined innovation and today’s IoT technology to pave the way for the future of smart commuting. We created a robust platform with multiple features such as QR Code, GPS, Report, Referral, etc. Moreover, we also provided Daily Quota Timer, Geofencing, and other features to ensure the safety of the client’s assets. Thus, we built a state-of-the-art application set to create a paradigm shift in the mobility industry.

Top Features

QR Code Scanner

Users can locate the nearest vehicle or look for a GURARIDE zone around them. They’ll need to scan the QR Code present on the panel via the QR Code Scanner in the application to unlock the bike. The users can then click on the “Start Ride” button and get moving. Once they’re done riding, they’ll need to park their vehicle and click on “End Ride”.

Integrated Payment Gateway

We have integrated a Flutter Wave Payment Gateway to ensure a seamless and secure payment process. The application offers multiple payment options, including debit cards, credit cards, e-wallets, etc. The users can choose their preferred mode of payment to make transactions for the security deposit and rental fee.

Ride Summary

After the users have parked their bike, locked it, and clicked on the “End Ride” option, the users will be able to provide a Ride Summary. They can rate their experience on a smiley-scale to express their satisfaction level. Additionally, they can see their total time, distance, and daily quota on the screen.

Geofencing

Ensuring that users comply with traffic laws and the company’s policies was our top priority. To achieve this, we incorporated a Geofencing feature that triggers pre-programmed actions or relevant messages when a user exits a designated virtual geographical boundary.

Feedback and Reporting

In case users encounter an issue while riding the bike, they can report the matter by mentioning their Bike ID. They can select from the options provided, such as “Report Charging Issues”, “Report Illegal Parking/Damage Issues”, and so on. They also have a text-field where-in they can type their concerns in detail.

We offered a state-of-the-art application that ensured its users had a great first impression. Moreover, its user-friendly interface and frictionless navigation feature align with our clients and end-users’ expectation. Thus, from starting a GURARIDE to ending it – we handled it all!
